You’ve probably heard sisters Yvonne "Sue" and Heather "Sunny" Wheatman without even realizing it. Their voices can be heard backing the likes of Dusty Springfield, T. Rex, Elton John, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, and Donna Summer. One of just a handful of releases they ever recorded as a duo, Sue & Sunny popped out of London’s Trident studios in 1969 with the help of over forty musicians, and label mate Robert William Scott in the producer’s chair. In Robert’s words, the sunshiney vocal pop record “makes Memphis look like a ‘B’ movie.”
